Royalton Negril – Not Worth the Hype. Read the Reviews First! We were excited about our trip to Royalton Negril and even added an extra day to recover from jetlag and make the most of our vacation. Sadly, our experience fell far short of what’s expected from a resort that advertises itself as “luxury.” We reserved a king-sized bed for our first night and were given two doubles. Then, after paying to upgrade to a Diamond Club swim-out suite, we were again given double beds—not what we paid for. To make things worse, we were told to check out at 11 a.m. and couldn’t check into the upgraded room until after 4 p.m. Even though check-in is listed at 3, we spent most of the day waiting with our luggage. The butler service was basically nonexistent, and room service (which is supposed to be 24/7) didn’t even answer the phone our first night. My wife’s tea was served cold, and when she asked for hot tea, they said the machine was broken. We were supposed to receive a bottle of liquor at check-in, but only got it the day before we left, after repeated follow-ups. Even worse, they ran out of beach towels for multiple days — at a beachfront resort. After all that, we contacted corporate, expecting them to make things right. All they offered us was a Diamond Club upgrade for our next stay — as if we’d ever come back. This resort is all about looks and marketing, not actual service. It’s not luxurious, not accommodating, and definitely not worth the price. ?? PLEASE do your research before booking. Read real guest reviews — especially the negative ones. They reflect our experience exactly. Don’t be fooled by polished photos and empty promises.
Amazing resort

This was a family trip with an 18 and 20 year olds. We had a great time. The resort is beautiful, the snorkeling off the beach was fun and we saw a ton of fish and starfish. The 2 bedroom presidential suite was amazing. Building 5 is the perfect location in the middle of the resort and the butlers, Dane and Nicholas, were the best and made the trip amazing. We will request them when we return.
